Delete your Matchpix account

You can delete your account and the data we hold about you at any time, from this page or from Profile inside the Matchpix app.

Checking whether you are signed in…

What happens when you ask

  1. A subscription bought on the Matchpix website is cancelled immediately and your access ends. The remainder of the month you have already paid for is not refunded and not usable. This is not reversible — if you change your mind about the deletion you get your account back, but you would need to subscribe again. A subscription bought through Apple in the iOS app is not cancelled by deleting your Matchpix account — Apple keeps billing until you cancel it yourself in your Apple subscriptions. Likewise, a subscription bought through Google Play in the Android app is not cancelled by deleting your Matchpix account — Google Play keeps billing until you cancel it yourself in your Google Play subscriptions.
  2. Your account is deactivated and scheduled for deletion in 30 days. During those 30 days you can sign back in and cancel the deletion, but that is all the account can do — the rest of Matchpix is closed to it.
  3. After 30 days it is permanent. Nothing below can be recovered after that point, by you or by us.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in account — email address and password.
  • Your profile: name, date of birth, role and preferences.
  • Your children’s profiles, their nicknames and their tough-word lists.
  • Your scheduled sessions, session history and practice progress.
  • Your devices, memberships and consent records.

What we keep, and why

  • Sessions you took part in, with you removed. A session is also the other participant’s record — a therapist’s history, a district’s billing evidence — so the session stays and your name and identity are stripped out of it.
  • Billing and payment records. We are required to keep these to meet legal, accounting and tax obligations. Your card details were never held by Matchpix; they are held by Stripe, our payment processor.
  • An audit entry recording that the deletion happened, which is what lets us prove to you that it did.

If your school or district manages your account

Accounts on a school or district plan are managed by that organisation’s administrator, who is responsible for the roster. Ask your administrator to remove your account, or email support@playmatchpix.com and we will put you in touch with them.

Deleting a child’s data

Children do not have their own Matchpix accounts — they exist as profiles under the adult who added them. A parent, guardian or clinician may remove an individual child from Profile in the app at any time, or delete the whole account here, which removes every child under it.
